Tokyo Ramen is a perfect inclusion in the Asian food link mall within the newly expanded Macquarie Centre, which is now the second largest shopping centre in Sydney. The brief was to create a sense of theatre, immersing the customers in the hustle and bustle of a Japanese street scene. Neon signage, corrugated metal, timber shingles, exposed brickwork, and graffiti create the edgy interior.
For authenticity, Japanese newspapers were utilised as a backdrop to the noodle bar and traditional red lanterns were also sourced from Japan, to highlight the entrance. This is the fourth incarnation for Tokyo Ramen in Sydney.
